Here we have a Beautiful 1921 Gillette New Standard Razor Replated in White Platinum, this 103-year-old Gillette Razor is in Refurbished Replated Condition, No Bent Teeth, The White Platinum Plating on this razor is Absolutely Beautiful as can be seen in the pictures, there is No Rust, Brassing or Scarring. All parts fit together tightly as they should to hold the blade in place. This is one of those razors that just has a good feel in your hand, it is known to give a Good Close Shave without taking off your skin. :-)

This 1921 Gillette "NEW STANDARD" has been previously owned & used through the years since it's manufacture. Being manufactured in 1921 this Gillette is 103 Years old, Somebody Loved This Razor! It is 103 years old, it still looks Great. The head shows No Signs of Wear. The underside of the head piece shows Absolutely No Signs Of Wear. The teeth of the open tooth comb blade guard have withstood the test of time wonderfully with NO breaks at all. Gillette manufactured these razors to last a lifetime, this one has lasted more than a lifetime "So Far". It is a must have for a Gillette collector.

The New Improved was supposed to be easier to clean, a bit more durable and lessen the chance of nicks and cuts, perhaps by holding the blade more securely. In 1921 Gillette released the New Improved razor with the heavier flat guard. Since the Old Standard was now gone, one of the sets that came out was the NEW STANDARD. Our process:

1. Repairs are made, guards are straightened, doors are straightened, mechanics are checked, razor is then disassembled.

2. Deep Cleaning / Disinfecting in 160 degree Ultrasonic Bath with special degreaser / soap scum remover.

3. Polishing and resurfacing, mirror polish where needed.

4. Hand Polish with special jewelers cloths.

5. Ultrasonic Deep Clean / Disinfecting at 160 degrees, 160 degree Electroclean, Surface Activation, then our Awesome Bright Nickel Plating.

6. If indicated- 24K Hard Gold Plate or White Platinum.

7. For Adjustables I paint the numbers and selector spring with Testors enamel paint. The black ring below the selector dial on Fatboys and Executives is now USA made automotive pinstriping, which in our experience lasts longer than painting with enamel.

8. Reassembly, blade gap is checked and set, mechanics are checked.

9. Final Hand Polish
