 Gillette New Improved Bostonian Refurbished Replated 24 Karat Gold. Serial number 689773A. The Cap of This Razor Is Replated Satin Gold Which Will Make the Plating Last Longer. The razor is 102 years old and looks fantastic, there is Absolutely No Wear, the teeth of the open tooth comb blade guard have withstood the test of time wonderfully with NO breaks at all. The handle has a minuscule stress fracture at the top of the handle that can hardly be seen without a magnifying glass, it is about 1/32 inch long, Not Open.. The weight of the razor is 78g. 

 All three pieces fit precisely as they should and lock down properly. Gillette manufactured. This Razor Has Been completely Cleaned and Polished. It is a must have for a Gillette enthusiast and is Absolutely shave ready.

 The New Improved Bostonian was supposed to be easier to clean, a bit more durable and lessen the chance of nicks and cuts, perhaps by holding the blade more securely. These great-looking, great shaving razors were made from 1921-1928.  In 1921 Gillette released the New Improved razor with the heavier flat guard.

 We guarantee our plating, something Gillette never did. If the plating fails under normal use, cleaning with hot water, Dawn dish soap and a soft toothbrush, we will replate it for free in the first 6 months.

Refurbishing Process:

The original razor is disassembled, cleaned and disinfected. Then any repairs or adjustments are made. Next, the razor is polished, outer doors, outer cap, end caps, and guard edge are mirror polished, followed by a hand polish. We then plate the razor with Nickel Plating. White Platinum or 24K Gold is plated over the Nickel for those razors plated with precious metals. Finally, the razor is reassembled and adjusted. Blade gap is checked with a blade in, between the blade and guard. Fatboy numbers are repainted and the stripe is installed (USA Made Auto Pinstriping). No warranty is implied for the paint or pinstriping. The Plating comes with a 6 month warranty to not crack, chip, wear off, flake or discolor.
