  Here for your consideration is a Refurbished Replated 1953 Mint Gillette President Double Edge Safety Razor. Its date code is Y1, meaning it was made in the first quarter of 1953. These razors were made 1951-53. It has a one-piece twist to open (TTO) design. It is fully Replated in Rhodium. This razor is in Refurbished Replated Condition. The underside of the head, top, says "REG U.S. / PAT. OFF. / [date code]," and the underside, bottom, says "[Gillette diamond logo] / MADE IN U.S.A. "The razor's weight is 66 g."

  The handle is fully knurled, including the band above the TTO knob. Aesthetically it is very similar to the Diplomat, but with Rhodium instead of Gold, representing the high end of this razor family. It is a solid and relatively heavy razor, and its shaving aggressiveness is similar to that of a Red Tip Super Speed. It is perfect for the combination of heavy beard and sensitive skin. Just put in your favorite blade and try it for yourself.

It is absolutely gorgeous, extremely clean and shiny, without any other defects . Mechanically it is perfect, with the doors opening and closing smoothly and firmly. Our process:

The original razor is disassembled, cleaned and disinfected. Then any repairs or adjustments are made. Next, the razor is polished, outer doors, outer cap, end caps, and guard edge are mirror polished, followed by a hand polish. We then plate the razor with Nickel Plating Rhodium or 24K Gold is plated over the Nickel for those razors plated with precious metals. Finally, the razor is reassembled and adjusted. Blade gap is checked with a blade in, between the blade and guard. Fatboy numbers are repainted and the stripe is installed (USA Made Auto Pinstriping). No warranty is implied for the paint or pinstriping. The Plating comes with a 6 month warranty to not crack, chip, wear off, flake or discolor.
